This Week in Modern Warfare & Warzone: Playlist & Store Bundles

Activision Blog has posted the latest This Week in Call of Duty post highlighting what players can expect in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone for the week of August 31.

This week sees Shoot the Ship, Ground War, and more.

This week will also see new store bundles for fans to pick up who want to customize their operators and weapons.

Here’s the breakdown from Activision Blog:

Modern Warfare®

This week in Modern Warfare enjoy Games of Summer, slay Kings in Warzone, and the fan-favorite Shoot the Ship playlist returns.

Games of Summer has arrived. Fight for country, glory, and Legendary weapon blueprints in this free for everyone summer event available until September 7. Get extensive details on Trials, tips for mastering them, and more on the Games Blog.

Search and Rescue is an objective mode that borrows elements from Kill Confirmed and inserts them into Search and Destroy. While you should always “play your life”, now fallen players drop dog tags. Collect your teammates tags to revive them, but if the enemy picks them up your squadmates will be permanently eliminated from the match. Watch your six in this S&D hybrid mode, and try to confirm your kills, so the enemy doesn’t come back and take revenge.

Master the pitch with ‘The Game Winner’ bundle for Gaz. The bundle includes a jersey-like Operator skin, a Legendary assault rifle, and the ‘Footy’ weapon charm. Look the part for any match with ‘The Game Winner’ bundle.

Get a new look for Mara with the ‘Mara: Kawaii Cat’ bundle. This 10-item bundle includes colorful vehicle skins, the Aomi melee swords, and a Legendary blueprint – the Slaying Moon. Get Mara’s ‘Notice Meow’ skin in this fun Operator bundle in Store this week.

Ground War Reinforce is live this week and work to capture flags to gain position and bring your teammates back into the battle. Similar to Domination, there will only be three flags positioned in the center for a tighter more intense battle. Cap all three to automatically claim the round for your team.

Long live the King… until now. Eliminate top players or “kings” in the latest Warzone limited mode, Kingslayer. Also available, survive the circle and the Gulag in Battle Royale Solos, Duos, Trios, and Quads or get more bucks with your bang in Blood Money Quads.

End Games of Summer with a bang courtesy of a one-day triple feed. Get Double XP, Double Weapon XP, and Double Battle Pass Tier Progression all day long on September 7. It’s the perfect time to rake in some XP from Trials, complete ribbons or missions, and level up Modern Warfare’s newest weapon the FiNN LMG.

Activision files lawsuit against cheat manufacturer

Activision filed a lawsuit to sue a company responsible for creating hacks and exploits for Modern Warfare and Warzone.

Activision has sued CXCheats for illegally creating cheats to use in Call of Duty, the company announced.

CXCheats claims on their website that they are “dedicated to quality.”

This is a pathetic marketing line to convince users to buy cheats to use in Call of Duty.

The owner announced on Discord (message posted to Reddit) that they are removing Warzone cheats from their site.

Announcement Message

As some of you may know, Activision Publishing, Inc. has filed a lawsuit against CXCheats and has made it clear to us that our services violate their Terms of Use.

As a result of our lawsuit with Activision, we have agreed to cease development and support for all Call of Duty related products or services sold through the site. These products will not be returning to CXCheats in any form. You also should be aware that using third-party tools in Call of Duty may result in the suspension or banning of your account by Activision Publishing, Inc. or the game’s developers. We apologize for any pain we’ve caused to players of Call of Duty.

Call of Duty: Warzone has been experiencing an intense amount of hackers since the game’s launch on March 13 on the PC platform.

With cross play, the hacks impacted the console players as well. PS4 players have opted to disable cross play to avoid them. Xbox players currently cannot disable cross play for unknown reasons.

CXCheats said on Discord that any user found using their software in Warzone will be banned, permanently.

Any user who utilizes unauthorized third-party software to gain an unfair advantage, manipulate stats, and/or manipulate game data is subject to penalty. Unauthorized third-party software includes, but is not limited to, aimbots, wallhacks, trainers, stats hacks, texture hacks, leaderboard hacks, injectors, or any other software used to deliberately modify game data on disk or in memory.

As of now, Activision has not commented on the lawsuit.

Games of Summer event now live in Modern Warfare & Warzone

The first ever in-game event for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is live with the Games of Summer Event, available now through September 7 for everyone – both premium Modern Warfare game owners and free to play Warzone owners.

The event centers around setting time records in the Trials feature in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

Competing in the Games of Summer event allows you to unlock bonus content and rewards to use in Modern Warfare and Warzone.

Here’s the breakdown of how the event works and different Trials available to compete in.

Compete for Glory…And Free Rewards

For the first time in Call of Duty franchise history, community members from around the world – both those who own Modern Warfare and free-to-play Warzone – will be able to represent their country in easy-to-play, hard-to-master, single-player Trials of skill. By earning medals in each Trial, competitors will prove which country’s Tier One Operators are truly the best in the world.

Within Games of Summer, there are five Trials. These miniature experiences are similar to those introduced at Modern Warfare’slaunch and in post-launch Season updates.

Trials will be available for Modern Warfare and free-to-play Warzone players. Players will have unlimited entries, meaning you can keep playing them to set your best time or score and go for Gold.

A Pentathlon of Trials

Gold Medal tip: some Trials shave seconds off your final time for high accuracy, while others add points based on how quickly waves are completed.

  • Trial One: Gun Course (Starts August 28) on Custom Gun Course Map
    • Description: Make your way through the course as fast as possible while clearing all enemy targets and avoiding civilian casualties.
    • Medal Times: 01:30:00 (Bronze) / 01:00:00 (Silver) / 00:40:00 (Gold)
    • Loadout: Assorted Weapons
  • Trial Two: Price’s Alley (Starts August 29) on Custom Price’s Alley Map
    • Description: Eliminate an endless series of enemy targets while avoiding civilian targets to maintain the combo for as long as possible.
    • Medal Scores: 4,000 (Bronze) / 5,000 (Silver) / 6,000 (Gold)
    • Loadout: Renetti (Handgun)
  • Trial Three: Risky Parkour (Starts August 30) on Livestock
    • Description: Move through each checkpoint and finish the course as quickly as possible. Beware the heavy toxic gas on low ground.
    • Medal Times: 0:55:00 (Bronze) / 0:47:00 (Silver) / 0:40:00 (Gold)
    • Loadout: Combat Knife
  • Trial Four: Shooting Range (Starts August 31) on King
    • Description: Locate and shoot all targets in the area as quickly as possible while conserving ammunition.
    • Medal Times: 0:50:00 (Bronze) / 0:40:00 (Silver) / 0:30:00 (Gold)
    • Loadout: Assorted Weapons
  • Trial Five: Marksman Challenge Starts (September 1) on Custom Marksman Challenge Map
    • Description: Engage waves of long-distance targets and beat the clock. Missed shots burn time.
    • Medal Times: 3,400 (Bronze) / 3,900 (Silver) / 4,400 (Gold)
    • Loadout: HDR (Sniper Rifle)

To the Victor Goes the Spoils for Self and Country

For participating in Games of Summer, players will receive rewards based on performance within each Trial. These rewards are stackable – if a competitor achieves gold on the first try, they will receive all three rewards for their epic (or in some cases, legendary) achievement.

Each Trial medal comes alongside rewards (rewards can only be received once) and all players who participate earn the ‘Games of Summer Cup’ weapon charm. Trials rewards include but are not limited to vehicle skins, XP tokens, vehicle horns, calling cards, and Legendary weapon blueprints.

Earn gold in each Trial and receive the Legendary Assault Rifle Juliet Blueprint, a weapon truly built for chasing first place on any leaderboard. Built for pure precision with a clear, non-magnified sight picture, consider this a “gold standard” among a competitive pool of this weapon platform’s existing blueprints.

On top of these rewards, individual medals will give points to a player’s respective country, determined by their account’s origin. Each country’s points will be updated daily, and the top 15 countries will be visible on in-game leaderboards. Total scoring is weighted by country participants, so any nation can rise to the top.

Earn medals and rack up your points for your country, then at the culmination of Games of Summer, a country will be crowned champion. Will there be an underdog that claims glory for a well-contested Trial at the 11th hour? Or will one country hold a commanding lead throughout the Games?

Drop in and play before the event ends on September 7!

New Functional Weapon

The FiNN LMG – (Available at Season Five Reloaded Launch)

The heaviest primary weapon class in the game has a new challenger, the FiNN LMG and it will punch well above its weight against many of the existing LMGs.

This new LMG can be earned by completing an in-game challenge or a blueprint variant can be acquired by purchasing the “Mainframe” bundle.

An agile, mobile, and hostile tank of an LMG, the FiNN’s ultra-light and open-bolt design is uniquely paired with advanced recoil controls. This all adds up to a weapon with exceptional full-auto accuracy while still being lightweight, allowing for a unique playstyle that further blurs the line between assault rifle and LMG.

Warzone Content

New Game Mode: King Slayer (Available During Season Five Reloaded)

King Slayer is large-scale Team Deathmatch on Battle Royale where teams fight to earn points by defeating hostile players. However, the circle doesn’t collapse, rather it moves around the map for an agile battle on the go. The top five team’s top scoring player will be marked as a ‘king’ on the Tac-Map. Eliminate kings to get additional points and be awarded a free Killstreak.

Gunfight – Tournament, New Map Stadium (Available with Games of Summer)

What’s Games of Summer without a tournament? Gunfight Tournament returns as a head-to-head test of gunskill, map knowledge, and coordination, and a proper tournament deserves a Stadium.

The pitch level of the larger Stadium has become available for Gunfight. It’s a much smaller play space in the Gunfight mode, so remember to use those tents, crates, and other obstacles for cover, especially if an Overtime flag is on the line.

Gunfight tournament winners will be rewarded with XP, high tier cosmetic rewards, and bragging rights as victors of the summer tournament.

Free Access Gunfight Tournament

All players can join in the tournament during the Free Access Weekend from August 28 to September 2 featuring the Gunfight Tournament playlist.

If you have a friend that hasn’t tried the full version of Modern Warfare or are a Warzone player looking to hone your skills and unlock prestigious Gunfight Tournament rewards, then enter the tournament and go for gold.

Modern Warfare Content: Ground War Gets Reinforced (Available During Season Five Reloaded)

Owners of the full version of Modern Warfare, can experience a new way to play Ground War.

Reinforcements Inbound – Ground War Reinforce Arrives

In this Ground War mode variant, three flags are positioned towards the center of the map, in a similar manner to Domination mode.

If you or a teammate are downed, you enter Spectator mode instead of respawning, rejoining the battle only after a new flag is secured by your teammates. Claim all three flags and you automatically win the round. Win enough rounds, and your massive platoon will all earn the victory.

A Reloaded Store of Content (Available During Season Five Reloaded)

New Operator – Morte – Heads the Roundup of New Bundles

A spaghetti western-loving gunslinger will come to town, ready to lay down the law for the Coalition.

His name is Morte, and he’s Warcom’s newest recruit found in his own Store Bundle arriving later this Season.

Sergio “Morte” Sulla hails from Italy, is a skilled tracker who loves the Old West and strongly adheres to his own rules regarding right and wrong. Served with the legendary Col Moschin paratrooper regiment in Italy before being selected to join Warcom.

Other bundles available in Store during Season Five include the “Mainframe”, featuring a Legendary blueprint of the all-new Light Machine Gun Golf as well as the “Game Winner”, a sporty bundle featuring Coalition SAS Operator Kyle “Gaz” Garrick in a Legendary skin which suits him for some games on the Stadium pitch.

This Week in Modern Warfare & Warzone: Playlists & Store Updates

Activision Blog has posted the latest This Week in Call of Duty post highlighting what players can expect in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone for the week of August 17.

This week sees the return of the a MP Map Moshpit playlist, alongside Gunfight moshpit. There will be Mini-Royale in Warzone as well.

This week will also see new store bundles for fans to pick up who want to customize their operators and weapons. New Operator Velikan is available as well.

Here’s the breakdown:

his week in Modern Warfare put your mid-range skills to the test, Faceoff on a Gunfight map mosh pit, and get more fast-paced frenetic action as Warzone Mini Royale continues for one more week. Plus, get Shadow Company Operator, Velikan, and more in Store this week.

Play tight and tactical in Faceoff on a moshpit of traditional 6v6 Multiplayer modes played 3v3 on Gunfight maps. Secure the objective in Hardpoint and collect and deposit tags in Grind in this moshpit where smart play and communication will help you get the edge on the competition. The Faceoff moshpit includes a mix of Gunfight maps including Season Five’s Livestock.

Experience mid-range mayhem in Multiplayer’s latest playlist moshpit. Take the fight to Oil Rig, Suldal Harbor, Cheshire Park, Hovec Sawmill, and Khandor Hideout for a mix of deathmatch and objective modes. Choose your weapons wisely and beware the long sightlines available on each map.

A shadow of a shadow, Velikan is an Operator shrouded in mystery, but respected and feared for his skills on the battlefield. His ten-item bundle includes the ‘Megalith’ skin, two Legendary blueprints, a Finishing Move, vehicle skin, battle horn, calling card, and more.

Grinch dons the ‘Forest Spirit’ skin in his new Operator bundle ‘Eloko’. The bundle includes a Legendary Crossbow and SMG, calling card, emblem, quip, and spray. Embrace the fighting spirit of the forest and pick up the ‘Eloko’ bundle in Store.

Stay on the move with Cyber Attack Pro. This variant of the objective mode no longer requires players to revive teammates, instead respawns are enabled for a faster and more frenetic gameplay. Find the perfect balance between eliminating enemies and completing the objective, then work to lead your squad to the W.

Experience more Mini Royale, a chaotic, frenzied experience that captures the energy of the final minutes of a Battle Royale match. Choose your loadout before you enter the match, then jump into the battle with your weapon of choice and fight for victory. Also available this week Battle Royale Solos, Duos, Trios, Quads, and Blood Money Trios. If find yourself in the Gulag this week, you’ll be handed an arsenal from the assault rifle and SMG pool, so quickly snap to your targets and eliminate them to redeploy back into the match.
