Modern Warfare & Warzone August 15 Patch Update: Weapon Fixes

Infinity Ward released a patch update for Modern Warfare and Warzone on August 14 at 11PM PT on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

This is patch version 1.25 and was released to address the major weapon graphical issues, amongst other bugs.

Here’s the details from Infinity Ward:

Download Size:

  • PS4: 1.2GB
  • PC: 0.88GB (F2P only) and 1.83GB (MW/MW owners)
  • Xbox One: 66.3GB (Due to an unforeseen bug with the Microsoft patch delivery process, this download requires Xbox users to re-download files they already have, but it does NOT impact the overall install size. We’re working closely with Microsoft to ensure future updates are smaller in size.)  

Here are the final file sizes Xbox One players can expect to see after downloading today’s update: 

  • Warzone Only: 99.5GB
  • Full Game (WZ/MW): (up to) 183GB

If you’re looking to free up hard drive space on your console, you have the option to delete content you may no longer wish to use in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Click HERE to see how to manage and delete content. 

GENERAL FIXES:

  • Fix for weapon models (sights and weapons picked up) corrupting on screen
  • Fix for an error that could occur when selecting “Play Again” option in Warzone
  • Fixed a bug where players could use the rope ascender through a closed door in Downtown
  • Fixed an issue where the world model of the Common AUG was appearing invisible in Warzone
  • The increased map counts in our playlists caused some maps to not appear in playlist rotations. To help them appear more regularly, we’re removing the following maps from each mode listed below:
    • Headquarters – Removing Arklov Peak and Shipment
    • Kill Confirmed -Removing Aniyah Incursion
    • Cyber Attack – Removing Aniyah Incursion
    • Hardpoint – Removing Piccadilly and Aniyah Incursion
    • Search and Destroy – Removing Rust

Watch Twitch streams to get rewards in Modern Warfare & Warzone through Aug. 19

The bonus rewards in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone for watching Twitch streams offer is back, live now through Augt 16.

To celebrate the Season 5’s official launch last week in Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Activision is teaming up with Twitch again to enable drops for select COD Partner streams. Watching select streamers will let you get additional bonus content in game.

Season Five of Modern Warfare brought major map changes to Warzone and gave Multiplayer fans four new battlegrounds. Level up your weapons and your identity with cool new rewards, available to earn by watching Modern Warfare on Twitch from August 12 to August 19. 

Here’s the steps to watching and earning Modern Warfare and Warzone rewards on Twitch:

  • Step 1: Get a Call of Duty Account: Registering for a Call of Duty account is a relatively easy process that gives you some awesome benefits. Accounts make it possible for cross-play to be enabled in Modern Warfare, and you’ll receive all the latest intel and personalized stats. Get an account by going here. If you already have an account, you’re all set.
  • Step 2: Link and Re-link: Once you have a Call of Duty account, connect it to your Twitch Account, so you can start earning!
    • Go here to link your Call of Duty and Twitch accounts. 
    • If you already have a Twitch account, you must re-link. Re-linking ensures you have enabled the correct permissions, so you can earn rewards. Go here to re-link your Call of Duty and Twitch accounts.
  • Step 3: Watch and Earn: Then, you’ll need to head to Twitch and get a look at the streamers who are playing Warzone. On drop eligible streams you’ll see a callout that “drops are enabled”, so you know you are officially watching and earning. From there, click the stream and enjoy the gameplay. You can watch multiple streamers or one stream but as long as they are “drop eligible” your total watch time will be tallied up, so you can earn rewards.
  • Step 4: Get the Goods: So, you’ve watched some awesome gameplay of Season One of Modern Warfare and want to know what’s headed to your inventory? Details below:
    • Watching 1 hour – ‘Smoke Up’ sticker
    • Watching 2 hours – 1-hour Double Weapon XP token
    • Watching 3 hours – ‘Big Bang’ animated calling card
    • Watching 4 hours – ‘Blast Check’ weapon charm

Modern Warfare & Warzone August 11 Playlist Update Now Live

Infinity Ward has released the latest playlist update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

This new playlist update brings Hardcore TDM and KC & Barebones in Modern Warfare MP, alongside continuing Mini-Royale in Warzone.

Note: Activision Blog’s This Week blog post said that Shoot the Ship was going to replace the current MP Free Weekend mode in Warzone, but at the time of this writing, Shoot the Ship is not available.

STORE UPDATES:

Get a fearsome gold look in the ‘Executive Armorer’ bundle for Mace. Modern Warfare & Warzone August 11 Update: Weapon Tuning

Infinity Ward has released an in-game patch update for Modern Warfare & Warzone with weapon tuning updates on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on August 11.

This in-game patch brings weapon tuning updates, including changes to the Bruen and FAL weapons. These two weapons have been overpowered and overused in game since the last few patch updates.

Here’s the full changes as part of the update:

GENERAL FIXES:

  • Fix for an issue where explosive rounds on the Rytec AMR could still be equipped in CDL modes
  • Fix for an error players could receive when opening the weapon armory
  • Fix for an exploit in the Shooting Range trial

WEAPONS:

FAL:

  • Increased headshot damage (2 hit at range with 1 headshot)
  • Reduced near damage (limbs and lower torso always 3 shot)

Holger-26

  • Increased damage range
  • Increased ADS speed

Bruen MK9

  • Reduced damage range

M91

  • Increased near damage
  • Increased ADS Speed

New Modern Warfare & Warzone patch updates coming with weapon updates and more

Infinity Ward’s Senior Comms Manager Ashton Williams has posted a few tweets overnight confirming two new patch updates are in the works at the studio for Modern Warfare and Warzone.

In a series of tweets, she has revealed that the first patch update is set to bring weapon tuning updates, fix for armory issues, and other bug fixes.

The second patch update coming up after that will include a fix for the weird weapon polygon glitch that is occurring for users which shows a weapon blown out of proportion on screen. The update will also fix the Play Again button.

There are no ETAs yet for either of the patch updates, so stay tuned for the latest news.

Modern Warfare & Warzone August 7 Update: 2XP & MP Free Weekend

The latest playlist update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone is now live on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

The two major things is Double XP and Free Weekend in MP.

Double XP:

LIVE in Modern Warfare from August 7 at 10AM PT to August 10 at 10AM PT will be:Advertisement

  • Double XP
  • Double Weapon XP
  • 2X Tier Progression

The weekend just got better as Infinity Ward has activated a triple feed from August 7 at 10AM PT to August 10 at 10AM PT. Earn Double XP, Double Weapon XP, and Double Battle Pass system tier progression in every Multiplayer match to advance up the tiers and level up your Operator and weapons.

MP Free Weekend:

Activision has announced that players can experience Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s multiplayer mode for free this weekend only through Call of Duty: Warzone.

Players can try Call of Duty: Modern Warfare MP free starting now and ending on Wednesday, August 12 at 10AM PT. There is one new playlist in Warzone that allows for free MP access.

The playlist has access to 5 MP maps, including the two new maps that went live with Season 5 update.

Free-to-play Warzone users can experience Modern Warfare Multiplayer Friday August 7 at 10 AM PT to Wednesday August 12 at 10AM PT. Battle across five Multiplayer maps including Suldal Harbor and Petrov Oil Rig, both new this Season. The playlist will be a map mosh pit featuring a mix of deathmatch and objective modes giving the opportunity for varying engagements and tactical play each match.

Drop in and play MP through the Warzone game menu starting now through August 12!

Xbox Live Gold is not required to play the free weekend through Warzone from August 7 through August 10 as part of the Xbox Live Gold Free Weekend. PS+ not required to play free to play games.

Infinity Ward will be activating Triple Feed weekend for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone to celebrate the start of Season 5.

Season 5 arrives in Modern Warfare & Warzone with Update 1.24

Infinity Ward is releasing the latest patch update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone on August 4 at 11PM PT / August 5 at 2AM ET. This patch update will bring Season 5 content to the game.

The patch update is version 1.24. The patch is 36GB on PS4, 49.8GB on Xbox One, and 54.2GB (Modern Warfare owners) & 47.4GB (Warzone F2P) on PC.

Season 5 goes live with this new update. Across the entire game, Season 5 will bring a brand new Operator, new Battle Pass, and new Store bundles for players to explore and unlock. More info on the roadmap is here.

  • Added a brief decay period when transitioning from heavy footsteps (sprint, tactical sprint) to lighter footsteps (walk). This addresses players immediately becoming quiet upon slowing down from fast movements
  • Fixed a bug where the player’s choice of weapon fire and scope states were not being saved and restored after interacting with the Sentry Gun, Shield Turret, and Care Package

MODERN WARFARE:

  • Fix for invisible collision appearing in Barakett Promenade
  • Fix for a bug where the 23.0″ RPK Barrel was appearing broken in-game and in the Gunsmith menu
  • Fix for an exploit where players were able to give themselves unlimited ammo
  • Fix for an exploit using the Recon Drone and Care Package
  • The PKM – Bludgeoner will now gather ammo from any other PKM weapon
  • Fixed an issues where players were hearing the missed hit VO for the Precision Airstrike when right after calling it in
  • Added a VO line when a player’s High Alert warning is triggered
  • Fixed an issue where players could receive ‘wallbang’ kills when shooting through players

WARZONE:

  • New Warzone loot items!
  • Gulag weapons will now rotate every week between four sets total
  • Increased effective damage range for all semi-auto DMR and semi-auto Sniper Rifles
  • Increased effective damage range for the FR 5.56
  • Fix for a bug where the player’s physics could be controlled by the helicopter while they parachute out
  • Fix for an issue where players were unable to call in any Air Strikes
  • Fix for seeing invalid pings on the Heartbeat Sensor
  • Added new VO lines to warn players of enemy Recon Drones being called in near them (BR only)
  • Previously, the Most Wanted contract could respawn dead players. Now, it can respawn players in the Gulag in any state
  • Fix for the ‘Alive in Gas’ challenge timer

CALL OF DUTY LEAGUE:

  • Fix for an exploit while inside the blue kiosks on Piccadilly
  • New restricted attachments:
    • Muzzle – Suppressors (all)
    • Optic – Thermal Sights (all)
    • Underbarrel – Merc Foregrip

CO-OP MODES (Tac Ops, Classic Special Operations, Survival):

  • Team Ping is now enabled in these modes
  • New Challenges: Playing it Bogart – Defeat enemies in style while supporting your teammates in these Co-Op Focused Challenges

SPECIAL OPERATIONS: SURVIVAL

  • Added new map, Crash
  • Fix for exploit involving the Equipment Store

PC:

  • Improved stability
  • VRAM usage is now displayed in 2 separate bars: one for Warzone and the other for multiplayer
  • Added a keybind for Air Vehicles’ Horn in the Killstreak and Vehicles tab in the Options menu

Modern Warfare and Warzone Season 5: PlayStation Exclusive Content

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone Season 5 launches August 5 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC for all players, free with a brand new Battle Pass (free and paid tiers), new MP maps, new Warzone map updates, and more.

PlayStation users will be getting exclusive bonus content with Season 5 in both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone.

The new PS4 exclusive content includes:

  • New Survival Map — Crash: A familiar Crash site is the locale for the newest map playable in the PlayStation exclusive Survival mode. Take advantage of long sightlines or head to the rooftops and lock down a building to outlast waves of enemies. Get Killstreaks, freshen your loadout, and restock your ammo between rounds to equip your foursome with the tools to survive on Crash.
