Fans raised $1.6 million for Australia relief effort through Modern Warfare Outback Pack

Activision Blog has posted a new blog announcing that fans have raised $1.6 million for Australia through purchasing the Outback Relief Pack in Modern Warfare.

Activision will donate the money to a Direct Relief foundation, which are supporting Australia fire efforts.

The Outback Relief Pack went live in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in early January, as fans asked the company to donate revenue from the Australia themed pack to charity. The studio responded in kind saying that all revenue from the Pack was going to be donated to help support the Australia relief efforts.

Call of Duty players around the world came together in support of this terrible tragedy. We’re honored to help in this effort with the funds from the Outback Relief pack. We thank everyone for their generosity, and we look forward to putting this donation into action,” said Byron Beede, general manager and executive vice president of Call of Duty at Activision.

Thank you to fans and our community. Your inspiration drove the Outback Relief Pack. On behalf of everyone here at the studio, we thank you for your support,” said Patrick Kelly, co-studio head and creative director of Infinity Ward.

This donation represents 100% of Activision’s net proceeds from the sale of each Outback Relief Pack from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, including all sales of the previously released Outback Pack.

“This was an astounding act of generosity on the part of Activision and the larger Call of Duty community, and we at Direct Relief are deeply grateful,” said Thomas Tighe, Direct Relief President & CEO. “Most importantly, the Call of Duty community’s amazing support will translate directly into help for people in Australia.”

Modern Warfare January 31 Community Update

Infinity Ward has released the latest community update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare on their blog.

The community update recaps some of what has happened this week with the game, gives a small look at some things to come, and more.

Here’s the update from Infinity Ward:

This week we put a twist on a few playlists with Deathmatch Domination and Gunfight Custom! We’ve got more coming next week, so keep reading to get all the details!

First, let’s look at a few Customer Support conversations we’ve seen over the past few days…

Did you receive an error prompt while downloading last Wednesday’s update and have your combat record stats reset?

During last Wednesday’s update, some users were given an error prompt and for those who clicked “Yes”, their combat record stats were temporarily reset.

This also reset your custom loadouts, Operator customizations, Killstreaks, and Field Upgrade selections back to their default state.

Anyone who clicked “Yes” and had their combat record stats reset should now see their combat record displaying properly and as they were prior to initiating last Wednesday’s title update. This won’t restore your customizations, so you’ll need to set those up again to your liking.

If you were part of this group who had their stats reset and are not seeing them restored, please reach out to Activision Support, @ATVIAssist on Twitter!

Are you stuck in a download loop with “Spec Ops DLC” on PS4?

Are you missing your Season 0 emblem for completing Officer Challenges? As of 1/29/2020, these have been awarded to all users who qualified!

Here’s what’s coming next week to Modern Warfare…

We’re planning a few things for next week, like a some 2v2 Grind action maybe? OR….maybe a playlist for Shipment 24/7 AND a playlist for Shoot House 24/7? Hm…

We’ve also got some XP events planned, like 2XP, 2X Weapon XP, AND 2X Tiers, so keep an eye out for when these go live next week!

Want to meet some of the IW staff? Check out our latest developer diary with Level Designer Brian Baker!HERE!

Lastly, we want to thank you all for your support of the Outback Relief Pack. Today marks the end of our donation drive to provide relief to the devastating Australian bushfires. We look forward to sharing results next week, so again, thank you for your incredible support.
