Modern Warfare dev says content roadmap to come, explains some matchmaking issues

Infinity Ward’s Senior Communications Manager has commented on a Reddit post where users were asking about a roadmap or some sort of “what’s happening in MW” style of posts from Infinity Ward.

Williams has confirmed that such posts will be coming in the future, but she did not provide an actual date for when to expect this information.

This is coming.

The response comes on a post where users were complaining about some of the latency and matchmaking issues where ping was dramatically higher for players. The CM replied giving a description as to why some recent games have seen higher latency when playing. There was a bug in game where users will be match made on the wrong patch versions which was resulting in higher pings for some players.

We found a bug in our patch system where a small percentage of players were not able to properly obtain the latest patch, meaning this percentage of players were not getting matchmade with the larger playerbase who are on the latest patch. This lobby formed as a result of that bug and since there were so few players playing on the older patch, you all ended up playing together.

We’re actively rolling out a fix for this on the backend and have a fix for our patching system that will go live with our next title update so we can prevent this from happening in the future. Hope this provides some insight and apologies for the bug!

Activision sending surveys asking players what will bring them back to Modern Warfare

As usual for Activision, the company has sent out for surveys randomly to Call of Duty community members asking for their feedback on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: Mobile, and more about the franchise.

One particular question in the new survey that has caught some people’s eyes is about what would convince players to start playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare again for those who may have stopped after the game’s launch.

The survey lists a variety of options to pick from, including match balance, map design, spawn, weapon balance, and more.

Here’s the survey question and answers, from Reddit:

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has had its fair share of issues with many fans upset that the studio has not addressed some glaring things with the game alongside a variety of bugs.

It’s not clear how Modern Warfare may change with this survey answers.

Modern Warfare servers currently experiencing issues across platforms

UPDATE – December 5 at 8:52PM ET: The servers for Call of Duty titles on PS4, Xbox One, and PC are starting to come back online. If you’re having troubles, restarting your game should help.

Original Story:

The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare servers are currently experiencing some issues across platforms on December 5 evening for users worldwide.

Players are being met with a Server Error code and Server Queues when attempting to log into the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare servers on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

At the time of this writing, the Activision Support server status page still says that all servers are online so this could be a intermediate disruption to the servers.

There has been some disruptions to the Modern Warfare servers since its original launch, especially on launch day when the servers where down for 2 hours, and a couple weeks back.

Infinity Ward launched a major update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare this week with the launch of Season 1 for the title, with new content across MP and Special Ops and the Battle Pass. Info on Season 1 is available here.

We’ll update as Activision Support shares more.

Shoot House 24/7 to return to Modern Warfare in a future update

When Season 1 launched this week, Infinity Ward removed the Shoot House 24/7 playlist, which was a fan favorite mode after it launched in mid November.

Now the studio has confirmed it will make a return to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in a future update to the game.

On Reddit, a user posted asking Infinity Ward to bring Shoot House 24/7 back or “the chicken gets it.” Infinity Ward’s Joe Cecot replied saying it’s returning in a future update.

“Okay, okay, just don’t kill the bird.

(Future update ;)”

Infinity Ward replaced Shoot House 24/7 with Crash 24/7, one of the new maps that debuted at the start of Season 1 for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

There’s no ETA for when to expect this map’s playlist return, so stay tuned.
