Modern Warfare dev confirms Hardhat map still coming in Season 3

Infinity Ward has confirmed on Twitter that they are still planning to release the new map Hardhat, a remake from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, during Season 3 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

Infinity Ward first revealed the return of Hardhat back on May 8, when the company released the Season 3 Roadmap showcasing two new maps still yet to be released: Hardhat MP map and Aisle 9 Gunfight map.

Now, Joe Cecot, Studio MP Director, has confirmed it is coming as part of a “mid season update.”

Hardhat is one of the first remakes of a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 map for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

It’s not clear exactly when this mid-Season update will deploy, but seeing as Modern Warfare Season 3 is set to end in early June, it would most likely be within the next two weeks.

Modern Warfare and Warzone May 7 Update: Pistols Nerfed

Infinity Ward has released a new in-game update for Modern Warfare and Warzone on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

The update has brought changes to the .357 Snake shot, amongst other fixes.

Here’s the update notes:

General Fixes:

  • Tuning all smoke challenges to be a bit more forgiving. This includes the challenge to unlock the Bruen MK9
  • Fix to help prevent vehicle exploits
  • Various exploit fixes, including Ground War Infected
  • GameBattles: Fix for a few issues where players might not be able to join a new match
  • Reduced fire delay on the Lightweight and Match Grade trigger attachments on all .357 calibers
  • .357 Snake Shot damage rebalance
  • Fixed a bug where the damage on the .357 Snake Shot was too high at longer distances

Players have been complaining about how overpowered the akimbo .357 snake shots were in both MP and Warzone, and many players were using this OP setup in game. Infinity Ward has now made some adjustments, so let’s hope it is tuned better in the overall game.

Updated: Modern Warfare and Warzone Servers experiencing issues – May 6

UPDATE – May 6 at 5:30PM ET: Issues with the Modern Warfare and Warzone servers should be resolved.

If you are still experiencing issues, reach out to Activision Support at @ATVIAssist on Twitter.

UPDATE – May 6 at 4:34PM ET: Activision Support has updated their status page to confirm there are issues with the servers and their teams are investigating.

Original Story:

The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone servers are currently experiencing issues on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Many users are being met with an Error alert for the game’s servers when attempting to log in, and some were kicked out of their game for the message. There is also an issue with Connection Failed notification.

The message is putting users into a server queue to get back into the action, and it’s taking an extended period to get players back into the action.

If you experience issues, try restarting your game or console in order to get back in and wait on the menu main. The server queue should let you back into the action within a few minutes or so.

At the time of this writing (4:28PM ET), official website status pages have not been updated to identity any issues.

The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone servers have been experiencing many issues over the last few weeks with matchmaking issues and more as many players are online due to stay at home orders and lifestyle recently. Infinity Ward is working to address the issues ASAP for all players.

We will update as we get more information.

Activision Blizzard Q1 2020 Results: Modern Warfare best selling game

Activision Blizzard has announced that the company has generated over $956 million in revenue from microtransactions in Q1 2020, meaning January – March.

The number highlights the success of the in-game content in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and the release of Call of Duty: Warzone.

“Our goal to connect the world through epic entertainment is more important to our players than ever before,” said Bobby Kotick, Chief Executive Officer of Activision Blizzard. “We delivered strong financial results for the first quarter, and are raising our full year outlook. I have been awestruck by the strength of our employees and their families during this difficult time. Whether managing healthcare or childcare, performing public service or community service, our teams around the world have shown ingenuity and resilience. In the face of so many difficulties, our employees have made certain that the joy, the engagement, and the benefits of gaming remain an effective way to help keep our 400 million players around the world connected and safe.”

In-game net bookings were $956 million, as compared with $794 million for the first quarter of 2019.

Activision Blizzard also says that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, from launch to date, has now sold more copies and has more players online than any other Call of Duty title to date.

The company also revealed that Call of Duty: Warzone is now at 60 million players to date, since its launch on March 11, 2020. Activision says in-game content revenue doubled year over year in Modern Warfare compared to Black Ops 4 in Q1 2019.

  • Activision had 102 million MAUsD in the first quarter.
  • Call of Duty: Warzone launched on March 10, 2020 and has reached over 60 million players to date.
  • Life-to-date, Modern Warfare has sold through more units and has more players than any prior Call of Duty title at this point after its release.
  • In the first quarter, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare® unit sell-through was the highest for the franchise outside of a launch quarter. Following substantial year-over-year growth versus the prior title in January and February, unit sell-through accelerated in March, driven by upgrades from Warzone as well as rising demand amidst shelter-at-home conditions.
  • Also in the first quarter, Modern Warfare in-game net bookings more than doubled year-over-year versus Black Ops 4.

Activision also highlighted that Call of Duty: Mobile continues to see success:

  • Call of Duty Mobile continued to build on last October’s breakout launch with new content, features and events aimed at optimizing engagement, retention and player investment. The game saw increased reach and engagement in March, driven by an increased cadence of compelling content and events as well as shelter-at-home tailwinds.
