A big request some fans have been asking for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare on consoles is an FOV slider to change the standard field of view in the game.
Players have been asking for such a feature to extend the FOV from the standard around 90 to something higher to match what PC players are able to do with the PC settings, especially with Cross Play in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
Infinity Ward’s Communications Manager has stated, however, that they are not planning for an FOV slider in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare on consoles. She did state that they would look into adding an ADS slider in the settings, but they are not promising that feature in game at launch.
We can look into an ADS slider but no promises, so don’t hold me to that. I know FOV slider on console is a huge point of conversation, but we won’t be having one this game.
She states that there is not one “this game” which sounds like there are no plans at all to add one, even post launch in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. No Call of Duty game on consoles has had an FOV slider yet, but fans were hoping that with cross play, there was a possibility of that happening.
A big complaint that fans have mentioned thus far about the Open Alpha for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare on PlayStation 4 is a FPS drop that is occurring.
Fans have noticed on the map Pine in the Gunfight Alpha unusual FPS drops occurring, and based on Reddit threads, it appears to be limited to this specific map.
Infinity Ward has acknowledged that they are aware of the issue and working on a fix for it.

Infinity Ward has also stated that they are aware of an issue where Film Grain option will not stay off in the Alpha.
The studio also stated that they have heard feedback regarding the screen turning black/grey when you are injured, and states that they are ‘looking into it’ but ‘no promises’ on any changes to it as of now.

With the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Open Alpha 2v2 on PS4 now live, some fans have wondered if the Open Alpha file will be the same as the upcoming Beta file for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
Activision Support has now stated on Reddit that it is not the same file.
Players will have to download a new file for when the upcoming Open Beta for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available.
Thanks for the kind intentions of this thread (saving people time), but I’m afraid you do not need to keep the 2vs2 alpha installed after it ends. It will not roll up in the beta. The beta will be a separate download once that begins in September.
This is most likely because the first two days of the Open Beta for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is a pre-order exclusive access before becoming a full Open Beta. A new file will ensure that only pre-order access has the file downloaded to play during the Early Access period, with it then opening up to all during the Open Beta.

With the Open Alpha on PlayStation 4 now live for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Xbox One and PC fans have been left without anything to play as the Alpha is a PlayStation 4 only bonus.
The Open Alpha for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s 2v2 Mode is live now on PS4 and ends on August 25, featuring 5 Gunfight maps for players to play from.
Infinity Ward has confirmed on Reddit that the 2v2 Gunfight mode will also be available to play during the Open Beta for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
The Alpha is only on PS4. But you’ll be able to get your hands on Gunfight during the Beta!
This will be the first chance for all Xbox One and PC players to get hands on with Gunfight, alongside other MP modes Infinity Ward is planning for the beta.

Although the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Open 2v2 Alpha is only available on PlayStation 4, the friends list selection screen gives fans a first look as to how Infinity Ward will incorporate cross play friends for the game.
In the Social tab on the Friends list page (which can be accessed by pressing Triangle), players can see two separate friends list: their PlayStation™Network Friends and Activision.
The PSN friends tab is the same as your current PS4 friends list, showing you all of your current PlayStation friends only.
The Activision tab, which currently shows nothing for us, will most likely will be way players can add their friends across platforms to invite them to their game regardless of their platform.
Players will most likely have to add friends to their Call of Duty website account if they’re on a different platform in order to invite them — similar to other popular games that support Cross Play, including Fortnite, which requires users to add friends on Epic Games Account in order to play Cross Play.
Cross Play in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be available between PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and matchmaking in Cross Play will be determined by input device. Cross Play testing will be available in the second weekend of the Open Beta, which begins September 19 on all platforms.
The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2v2 Gunfight Open Alpha is now live on PlayStation 4.
The Gunfight 2v2 Alpha is open to every single PlayStation 4 player — no pre-order required, no code required, and no PS Plus required. The Alpha will be available from now through Sunday, August 25. An exact end time has not been confirmed.
The Gunfight 2v2 Open Alpha features five maps to play on: Stack, King, Pine, Speedball, and Docks. Per an Activision Support article, the Alpha starts with three maps (King, Pine, and Speedball), and the two new maps (Docks and Stack) will be added during the weekend.
Maps:
Docks (2V2 Alpha Exclusive)
A London shipyard with vessels travelling along the river behind one team’s infil point, with the other team spawning in street-side due west. Buildings 51 – the Foreman’s office – and 52 – the crew’s quarters – are two-story brick structures that define the map’s north and south, with a bridge connecting the two over a concrete walkway. The walkway under the bridge’s center – which also sits over a concrete waterway running east to west – serves as the overtime flag’s location.
King
A roughly-symmetrical training range warehouse with each player starting behind an L-shaped defensive structure made from sections of wood subfloor. Along the perimeter are two connected metal shipping containers (with “Shoot House” sprayed on each one), offering protection, but no clear line of sight. The center of the map is a half-constructed plywood stage with stairs at each end, crates to climb, and a concrete base with three small tunnels to traverse. The flag spawns in the center tunnel.
Pine
A woodland training range with working metal targets beyond the perimeter, and a small grassy area from the infil point. The eastern infil point is a firing range, while the western infil point is a bunker entrance. Each perimeter area leads to a rocky outcrop and a rusting vehicle to navigate or hide behind, and a raised, tarp-draped command post on the southern side. A stream bisects the map, running southwest to northeast, with an open red container where the flag appears.
Speedball (2v2 Alpha Exclusive)
A live firing range that is true to its name through its style. Containers, tire stacks, concrete slabs and wooden structures act as cover between the two squads that infil on opposite sides east and west. The overtime flag appears near the map’s southern portion, smack in the middle of two containers, dueling small towers and the central concrete-reinforced wood wall.
Stack
A desert training range, with both teams starting on a raised balcony (one with an overhang), each with two ramps; one at either perimeter edge. The side paths each have sand-filled buttress crates and tire stacks, and both widen slightly in the middle. The center of Stack is a raised platform, with plywood stairs (one at each corner), and an open container where the flag spawns.

Infinity Ward will be adding in variations of game modes into Gunfight throughout the weekend. More ‘surprises’ will be added throughout the weekend. Infinity Ward wants to use this weekend to test out scaling the servers with Gunfight alongside the overall balance and weapon system.
This is the first large scale Alpha testing that a Call of Duty title has ever had, so PS4 players be sure to try it out and give your constructive feedback to Infinity Ward developers.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will also feature an Open Beta in September for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The Open Beta will begin September 12 on PS4 and be exclusive to PS4 for the first weekend. The second weekend, starting September 19, will be available across platforms.
GAME Digital has announced a new edition of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare that is currently exclusive to their stores in the UK.
It’s called the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare + GAME Exclusive Steelbook Edition and includes the base Call of Duty: Modern Warfare game plus a new steelbook for fans.
This edition is currently limited to GAME UK, and it’s not been announced if it will be available in other regions or retailers. We’ll update when we learn more.

PlayStation 4 players can start to pre-load the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2v2 Gunfight Open Alpha on Thursday, August 22 at 10AM PT, Activision and Sony have confirmed.
The Gunfight 2v2 Open Alpha will be available to play starting at 10AM PT / 1PM ET on Friday, August 23, but players can get the download file installed on their PS4 consoles to be ready to play at the start time.
For PS4 players, you can visit the PlayStation 4 Store and search for the 2v2 Alpha on the store to start the download. You can also download it remotely on the PS Store site once it is available.
The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2v2 Gunfight Open Alpha is exclusive to PS4 and will run from August 23 at 10AM PT and end on August 25. A specific end time for this has not been announced.
Players will be able to play five different maps in this Open Alpha.
When the first gameplay from the Realism TDM on Night maps was shown for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, many fans noticed that when viewing other characters, you could not technically see their NVGs on the face of the models.
The characters just appeared as having nothing on — as shown in the image above.
Fans shared their feedback and thoughts on this on Reddit after gameplay was shown and asked Infinity Ward if it will be possible to actually showcase the NVGs on Operator models in game.
Infinity Ward’s Art Director Joel Emslie has now stated that the team was able to add this feature in. The NVG models will even flip up and down when it’s on or off the character.
Following up on this because it was being called out by many of you. We didn‘t want to comment because we weren‘t sure if it would work but…Joe Cecot and Chris George crushed this and now we have NODs/NVGs on all the operators in MP. Looks really REALLY cool:)……and because these guys are over achievers they flip up and down. Not sure if it will make it into the Beta or not but will be there on ship.
He did note that it may not be available in the Beta for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, but it will be ready in-game when the game launches on October 25.
Activision today announced a brand new line of merchandise coming for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, including a line from Game-Legends and DRKN.
The company announced that there’s a new line coming from DRKN.
The Original Gaming Streetwear Brand DRKN is partnering with Activision to produce a line of high-quality apparel, including a Lan Parka, Army Vest, Bomber Jacket, and a variety of Hoodies and T-shirts, a Patch Beanie, Snapback cap, and Velcro patches that can be added to each garment.
Activision also announced new merchandise will be coming from Game Legends. The first set of Game Legends merchandise is available at Gamescom only at first, but then will be available online.
Activision, partnering with premiere gaming product creators Game Legends, is thrilled to announce the Modern Warfare collection launching this fall. The first three T-shirts are available first at Gamescom. Additionally, Call of Duty figures, steins, and a number of other products with be sold at Gamescom.
